Vintage Advertising with a New Twist - Cross Stitch!

Here's a nicely finished piece of handwork - it is a vintage style advertisement done in counted cross stitch. Click on it to enlarge. How did they get the Olde Dame to pose for this in order to create the cross stitch pattern, you ask? I am guessing a bribe of some sort - if you stop by her blog, ask her (if you DARE!) and get back with me, so I can add that information to my post today!

Yesterday mom and I officially entered our Personalized Tote into the Purses and Totes contest at a local fabric shop! SEW Exciting! Above is the tag I created to attach to our entry, with the required information needing to be filled in. I believe we have as good a chance as any of the other entries. Voting is by customer, from May 1 to June 1. The prize is $100 gift certificate from the fabric store - that would be so very nice indeed - but it was certainly fun to see some of the other contestants entries. Someone created a fish purse - fins and eyeballs included! Very unique! That was the most unusual item I noticed. Of course we'll go back after the contest starts, to see anything that came in by May 1, and to vote for our favorites! Wish us LUCK!
