The Simple Woman's Day Book

I am joining in The Simple Woman's Day Book today! If you would like to link in, go HERE!

FOR TODAY, February 22, 2010...

Outside My Window...a Winter Weather Storm Warning - up to 10 inches of snow expected by this evening!

I am thinking...about the snow-globe appearance of the woodlands as the snowflakes drift down softly from the heavens.

I am thankful for...the warmth of the woodstove and the heat from the corn burner on such a cold morning.

From the kitchen...freshly baked cinnamon rolls, hot from the oven!

I am wearing...jeans, long sleeve shirt, warm socks and my RED SLIPPERS!

I am creating...ideas for new Corgi photographs.

I am going...to be starting Monday Washing soon.

I am reading...Last Child in the Woods...what today's children and society miss out on by being disconnected from nature.

I am hoping...the roads will be safe for Mr. Wonderful's return trip home this evening.

I am hearing...the contented snoring of 4 Corgi girls as they nap after filling their rumbling tummies at breakfast time!

Around the house...things need to be tidied up a bit after baking cinnamon buns!

One of my favorite things...reading old fashioned cookbooks at the dining room table near the heat of the corn stove.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week: Quick Stops to the post office to mail out orders of my Corgi Note Cards... to the feed mill to return a stock tank heater that failed to work. I'd like to bake some bread again this week, and perhaps snap a few photos of the fresh snowfall later on.

From my Photo Archives... Tina, my most loved hen...she passed away 2 winters ago...We still think of her fondly enjoying her Maxwell House Moments!

I love this new Simple Woman - Monica - I can just picture you in your home - with it all warm and toasty - you in your nice warm red slippers - it's dark outside ready to snow - you have your four little dogs in and they are resting - your reading and eating those darn cinnamon rolls that I want . . .

and can you still picture me here with that darn squirrel in my attic?

I feel like I'm remaking the movie Cattyshack!

Prayers for Bob's safe return home.

You had me at the warm cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven! Yum!

Hope it doesn't snow that much!

Hugs,
Angela

I, too, love old cookbooks, especially the ones that have menus in them. Thanks for sharing!

So glad you are enjoying the snow! I am enjoying not having any!

Love the picture of the hen. My hubby has promised to buy me some chickens this spring and I am pretty excited!

Now, if I could just stop by for one of those warm cinnamon buns my day would be complete!

Thanks for stopping by and for the words of wisdom. Love your corgis. I've always admired them. Mine are weeranian (half pom/half westie) and Shih Tzu sisters. Also - jealous of your RED slippers! I just asked a friend to knit me some and she asked what color. I said RED, of course! Blessings to you and yours tonight. B.
