Clean Sheets are for the BIRDS

A lovely sunshiny kind of day brings spring cleaning to mind - so, why not do something out of doors this morning? The ground was frozen from last night, so I put on my work gloves and took the garden hose out to fill Suzy's watering trough. I had to rise it out because even though it IS technically still winter, algae continues to form along the sides of that Rubbermaid tub; AND - sometimes Suzy likes to amuse herself by rinsing her hay before she has lunch or dinner. Floaters. Hay Floaters. NAAAY! Don't like ' em myself!
The "girls" were up and at 'em as I approached with their vittles. By noon the ground will be magically changed to mud strong enough to suck the boots right off my feet in spots. Yep, now's a great time o' day to fluff up the nest boxes and change the sheets!
You can see Cleopatra on the left, and Lizzy (named by my friend Chatty Crone!) on the right. Lovely, aren't they? They are curious as to what's going on, since I've already filled their hanging feeder.
Here's Priscella, lurking around the corner. What a striking pose! She likes to be the first one in and out of the nest boxes keeping a sharp eye on things. Priscella does tend to be shy, even when it comes to the game of "Bread Toss" - where I bring out pieces of crunchy dried bread and fling them to the crowd! She likes to wait till a piece is selected and offered to her personally.
The "Chicken Dinner" motivational sign has weathered well this winter. A little dust-off and polish will work great for this coming spring!
Mmmmm - what's happenin'?? What's that - - - SMELL???Ahhhhh! Nothin' like it.....The pine scent of - - - fresh clean SHEETS!

Have a great day!

So you have been busy today - putting out some clean sheets! You are so funny.

Your pictures are awesome. I am still working on my camera skills.

I see snow there still. Spring is coming!

I am wondering just how long those sheets will stay clean. See you still have snow. It has rained here all day but at least it washed some of the dirt and salt from the streets.

Hey Monica!

Your girls are looking good! I'm sure they love it when you change their sheets! I know I love it when I change my sheets! lol

Have you put the new girls in with the rest of your girls yet?

Hugs,
Angela

Thank you for visiting me. You've got some very healthy looking critters there! Yes, I love my little dog...she just follows me around all day to keep her eye on what I'm doing, and to make sure I stay out of trouble (haha).

I looked at that last pic and the first thing I thought was... "No sheet?"

Ok, that was terrible, I admit it...
