Little Shop of Horrors

It's a fine morning - the shining sun always cheers my heart after a few days of showers! Things are starting to green up at long last! I thought I would share a few photos with you - of my little hay barn, which turns into a potting shed in the spring!

It has an odd hitching post in the front, longer on one side to support a saddle when I'm getting ready to tack up my horse. I cleaned out the planting areas behind the railroad ties, and put in a few strawberry plants and also a holly bush. (Last year there was nothing, just bark chips. Boring!)

And THIS was the inside of my "Little Shop of Horrors!" Looking terribly neglected after the hard winter we had in Michigan!!! We were scrambling when looking for salt to put on the roof, shovels, roof rakes - everything got tossed this way and that, and LEFT that way - too cold to arrange them back the way things should have been! Gives me chills up my spine, just looking at this and remembering the freezing cold!!!

And now, here's my little potting bench pretty much arranged and ready to go into service soon. MUCH better - minus a mouse nest or two! I still need to do more out here, but not today.

This afternoon I'm going to spend time with my dear mother. We always have such good laughs when we are together! We are going shopping for more fabric to finish a Nurse Tote that one of my new blog friends has ordered. Mom is always thrilled when someone loves one of her creations - the proof is in the PURCHASE! She has just recently finished making a Corgi Tote, and I will post a picture of it here, and when we list it in our etsy shop. It is really delightfully bright!

Here's a picture of my little Peeps before the shed was cleaned out. (You can see some of the mess in the background - ugh!) Soon the chickies will be able to go outside and play, when it gets warmer and they are a little bigger!

Have a great day!

Well all I can say is your potting shed still looked better than my paint room, I'd be scared to take pictures. I did Spring cleaning through out the house and everything got shoved into the spare (paint) room. Still waiting for DH to build my store house that we bought the material for 8 yrs ago. DH is a piddler, always busy but acomplishes very little. And he was a carpenter and home builder by trade...sheez

Your shed sure is in apple-pie order now! How nice! What a difference warmth makes! Frees us up to do things.

The baby chicks are so precious!!!

How great to have a potting shed. I'll be trying to work on a potting bench this year :0)
Enjoy your warmer weather and the time with your mom. That in itself is precious.

Those little peeps are adorable! I'd love to have some of those...ahh, fresh eggs, collecting them each morning. When we first moved to Indiana our farm neighbors had a huge henhouse and we were in there all the time, collecting, then candeling eggs.
Happy memories.
Love the potting shed too...servicable, and dang cute!

Hi.
Thanks for coming to visit, and your short but sweet comment about my treasures. "ooooo". =0)

Your little shed is so cute. At least it is small, so not impossible to get cleaned up.
You should see our garage!!

Blessings and hugs,
Barbara Jean

Your shed looks just like the one my Dad had up in the mountains when i was a kid. At least you got your cleaned up... I'm so far behind in my cleaning!

We used to have chickens but the coyotes got most of the chickens and ducks and the snakes kept eating the eggs so we just gave up when the last of our old hens passed away... They were Robert's pets anyway.

I really want to see that Corgi Tote when you get a chance to post it. It has to be adorable if it's got a corgi on it!

Enjoy your time with your mother... it is so precious! I really miss mine!
