Vintage Thingie Thursday

Time for another posting on Vintage Thingies! When you are done reading this post, head on back to Coloradolady's blog to visit the other participants this week!

I love cute dog figurines, and this one is exceptional, in my book! It's a Yorkie, and my guess is it is supposed to be a male - the blue bow being the only clue. I am going to be offering this for sale in my etsy shop shortly.

He is in great condition, but is one of those vintage pieces that might be a knock off of some famous maker's figurine - there is no maker mark on the bottom, but I bet there used to be a sticker of some sort which was removed.

No chips, no dings, no cracks. He has a nice sort of dusky color to him - it gives him a softer and more appealing look, rather than if he was painted a darker black and brown.

He looks charming, no matter which direction he is facing!

Yesterday I said I would be showing the Corgi Tote that mom and I created - and here it is! It is a big sturdy tote, made of cotton fabrics with a stiffener sewn into the body - and the picture on it is my own Corgi model, Sassy. She is wearing one of our Flip n' Fold bandanas, and it goes well with the bottom and strap fabric we have chosen to use. Her picture is also a pocket, and is only on one side - the other side of the tote is plain.

In this photo, you can see a hint of the pocket inside - it has a strap attached to it so you can clip your car keys and find them again easily by reeling them back up to you! So very convenient - Love it! This tote can fit a whole bunch of stuff in it. I have a Nurse Tote listed in my shop which shows the groceries you can stuff inside, if you are curious. We are entering this tote in a contest at a local fabric shop May 1st, but it will also be featured in our etsy shop. This particular design will be available for purchase, but also the buyer may choose to have one created with a personal photo pocket - their own dog, other pet, or person! What a fun idea - don't you think? If you may be interested in having one made for you, please contact me with your email, and we will discuss the options.

Thanks for visiting today! Now, back to Coloradolady's with you! Happy VTT to you all!

Cute yorkie. I may have to take you up on the idea of purchase a tote with my furbabies pic. I'll mention it to my kids as not only Mother's day is coming, but my bday too! This would be a good gift for me :0)

I love dog figurines as well but I've got a thing for pink poodles. :)

How nice that you and your mom could make the bag together, it's very cute and those totes would serve any mom well.

That little Yorkie is so cute! I used to have a sweet little girl, had her for 14 years. Now, I just have two wieners.... That piece should do well on Etsy. Very cute
