Free Vintage Style Advertising Art

Thought this looked cute for spring. I've used spray starch before, but never the kind a person had to COOK! What a hassle! Nowdays, there is starch that sprays on and smells like potpourri! It isn't quite as heavy, but gives a nice scent and adds a little body to fabrics when used.
Remember these tin signs on the doors of the corner stores? I'm sure they were free giveaways to the grocer who promoted their product. I've seen them for soft drinks as well. With every "PUSH" you got an instant reminder!
The sign above was quite common years back. You might see it posted on a roadside or on a barn somewhere. I have a sign in my kitchen that we found in a barn on a property we used to own. I couldn't leave it hanging there - I took it along when we moved and it makes a handsome display piece above my cabinets. Have a great day!

LOL...I've used the cooked kind of starch before oh my how I hated that stuff. DH had to have his jeans so stiff they could walk by themselves. Thank goodness they invented the stray kind and DH stopped wanting starch all together.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane.

Hey! It's my first time visiting your blog, but I like the vintage signs!

Love those signs. Now we have AdSense on the bloggies instead of the "push" door signs!

I do remember starch being cooked in a pot on the stove, and how the mixture would sometimes "lump" and that was very bad.

I remember the Holsum Bread better than the other two. Cracker Barrel has a lot of those signs too. Gives you a nice feeling to think back in time.
