Tuesdays' Show & Tail - Don't Get all in a FRIZZLE!
I'm joining in on Tuesday's Show & Tail at Angela's West Virginia's Treasures. If you have a cute story and picture of a pet, or any furry (or non-furry) friend, you are welcome to join in! Please check out the rules at her blog, and WELCOME!
Isn't this a dandy looking chicken? It is called a "Frizzle"! A friend of mine has buff colored banty Frizzle hens, and hers are the first I have ever seen, though Frizzles come in just about any color. They are bred for exhibition and originate from Asia.
Here are some Frizzle pullets. They look so downy and soft! If a Frizzle is bred to a Frizzle, 25% of the offspring will be what is known as "curlies" - the feathers are only curled, and very dry and brittle. If a Frizzle is bred to a normal soft-feathered breed, 25% of the offspring will be normal feathered.

Hey Monica!
Those Fizzles are cute! I've never seen a chicken like that before. Who knew there were so many different kinds of chickens!
Thanks for sharing such interesting looking chickens with us this week!

That is just too cute of your chicks. The white one is so pretty, fluffy and white. Looks as though you gave them a bath just for today.
cute pics. so fluffy how soft to the touch.
What a handomse Frizzle - no kidding. So what besides being pretty do they do - lay eggs?

Hi! What a delightful post! Those chickens are very pretty indeed. I sure enjoyed stopping by.
I've not seen this FRIZZLE chicken before...interesting.....they do look wet. Trish
Your frizzles look frazzled! Perhaps they don't want their pictures taken on 'bad feather' days.
They are fancy chickens. Must be French!
This is my first visit to your sweet blog via WV Treasures but I will be returning!
