Tuesdays' Show & Tail - So Tweet Once Again!

I'm joining in on Tuesday's Show & Tail at Angela's West Virginia's Treasures. If you have a cute story and picture of a pet, or any furry (or non-furry) friend, you are welcome to join in! Check her blog for the rules, post away - and thanks, Angela, for being a great hostess!
When Mr. Wonderful and I drove to Chicago this past Saturday, we stopped at one of our favorite Antiques Stores. I love to look, seldom buying anything there. It's a higher priced antiques consignment store, and looking at the goods that are for sale is fun - wondering what some things were used for, and then reading the tag with the explanation - that is what trips my trigger when we browse!

On the way out of the store, the last viewing area is a room about the size of an average dining room. I barely walked in the doorway, and - My, MY! What did I SPY??? A Vintage Bird Cage! Just the thing for a Housing Upgrade for Bizzy, my wonderful singing canary!!! I had found an antique cage a few weeks back while estate sale shopping, but after installing him and his accessories, he just was not "happy"....it was too small and he was feeling like Goldilocks.
It has a great vintage appeal, but he just wasn't as perky in it. I think it was more of a size for a little finch than a canary.

The NEW cage, the Cadillac of Bird Cages, is unbelievable in style/design! And even MORE unbelievable is that the chrome was all intact (very little rust), all the glass was there with no cracks, the art deco design is mostly unscathed, and it came with original perches, swing, and feed cups! Bizzy is now a Swinging Single again - lovin' life and singing about his chrome plated cage with STYLE!

Once he learns how to polish his own chrome and clean all his own glass, you can let him out of the cage and put him to work!

Oh, Monica, that makes me think how my Grandma always had a parakeet in her kitchen (at the end of the room in the sitting area)...how the little glass food & water thingies slid down the wire...loved it.
Lucky Bizzy! xo, Cheryl
