Tuesdays' Show & Tail - Frightfully Funny

I'm joining in on Tuesday's Show & Tail at Angela's West Virginia's Treasures.  Click on the Peacock to join in or to see other participants.  If you have a cute story and picture of a pet, or any furry (or non-furry) friend, you are welcome to join in! Please check out the rules at her blog, and WELCOME!

Yesterday I was out stacking hay in my potting shed and as I removed one bale for feeding the horses, I happened upon an unexpected surprise.
Snake Skin - so perfect!
I'm certain it was the skin of a Garter Snake - they're quite common here in the woods.  Sometimes I come across them when I'm pulling weeds, or getting ready to start a bonfire...they like to hide underneath the rocks I have placed in those locations.  It can be startling when they first emerge, but, they are harmless, so I leave them be and enjoy their slithering movement as they 'high tail it' to a different location.

Mr. Wonderful, my "HE-MAN"!
This specimen was completely intact - no rips or tears, except for the neck area where the snake decided to slip out of its suit!  I saved it to show Mr. Wonderful when he came home in the evening - I knew he'd find it fascinating.  I forgot about the skin until after dinner.  He was unwinding from his busy day, watching TV and thumbing through a magazine...so when I walked over and whipped out the snake suit, he didn't hear me come over towards him, but he sure seen that skin as I dangled it over the top of his magazine...and he LEVITATED into the air, his remaining hairs forming a Mohawk as they stood straight up from his head!  Some 'not so pleasantries' flew from his lips - seems I had forgotten how terrified he is of SNAKES!!!  I could literally SEE his heart pounding in his chest, he was so startled by the sight of that thing!!!  It made me laugh for hours - but him???  ....notsomuch!

Here Snakey Snakey!

Hey Monica!

I can't believe your He Man was scared by a little ole snake skin! hehehe Poor Mr. Wonderful. You shouldn't pick on him like that! lol

How neat to find a snake skin that is pretty fresh like that one. I hope it was a harmless snake! Keep those things away from your girls.

We don't have to deal with snakes where I live. But if I did I would probably be a big sissy like your
HE-MAN. :-)

Ah, I'm fine with snakes so long as I see them long before they see me!

I'm with Mr. Wonderful and I wouldn't like that either. In fact, I'd stay away from hay for the rest of my life. :)

OH, MY GOSH! YOU ARE SOOOOO MEAN! I hope I didn't wake anyone laughing so hard! That was a really cool find! Better a snake SKIN without the snake, though I don't have problems with garter snakes either. Good thing he doesn't have a weak heart, though!

Your heart DOES tend to pitter-pat if they take you by surprise...

That is the way my BIL would react to a spider! LOLOLOLOL...

We are heading out in the morning to got see that new grand-daughter.

See, now this is one of the main reason I make Troy go and fetch wood at our trailer or in the shed at our cabin! I don't think I have ever gone to get wood from the shed without seeing either a snake skin or a snake!
