My granddaughter, Vivian, and I made plans to pick strawberries at Krupp Farms, which is about 12 miles from my house. When we drove by the farm, a large sign said "Next Pick - Wed. 7 A.M." You had better believe that after reading that sign, Vivian was wide awake at 6:45 A.M.! We did the animal feeding chores, let the Corgi Girls out for their morning constitutional, then she and I headed out to Krupp Farms for picking some flavorful Michigan berries!We arrived there to join other berry lovers - the price was right - just $1.00 per pound! They showed us which row to start on, and the berries were HUGE! It took only an hour for us to gather 24 pounds of berries! We didn't sample any till they were bought and paid for, but we sure had to try a couple on the ride home!
The humidity was high, and we had some iced tea when we got back to the house. Right now we are ready to do some serious washing and preparing the strawberries for the freezer - but we do plan to reserve some for a bedtime snack snack tonight! Strawberry Fields FOREVER! YEAH!
