As an animal lover, I cannnot resist the soulful eyes that Beagles have! They are such loving dogs if brought up in a family home, but can be very active, and you have to love their "baying" at every knock at the door! A friend years ago had one - a sweet little runt with an umbilical hernia. She felt sorry for it, so she brought it home and later paid for the surgery she needed, and was rewarded with a faithful companion! Beagles DO love to hunt, and this one was no exception! It learned how to escape the confines of their backyard by either digging under the fence, or propelling herself onto the air conditioning unit and sailing up and over the chain link fence! Clever little girl, she was, and so determined! Be sure you study up on Beagles if you are thinking of getting one for your family. They are cute little dogs, but dogs that need a JOB!

Free Graphics - - The Good Ole Days

Remember When? I sure do! The milkman used to leave bottles of milk in a metal box on our side porch...Mom would let us kids out to play in the morning, and by mid-morning I would be so sleepy, I would rest my head on that hard box and fall asleep! She'd try to get me inside to lay down, but "I'm not sleepy, Momma!" And I would beg to continue playing outdoors!

How about Drive-In Movies? I do recall dad having found the perfect spot to view the show, only to discover a broken (or worse yet - static noisy speaker!) so we'd have to move the car again! There were the cartoons that started the show just at dusk, till it was darker and time for the feature presentation, intermissions so viewers could run to the concession stand for food or a potty break, and the mosquitoes that would sneak in the crack where the car speakers hung on the window - they would buzz and we would swat - and they would always bite! How I hated that - especially on hot muggy nights when you really wanted ALL the car windows open to keep cool during the show!!! Yes - The Good Ole Days!

Free Graphics for your Projects

This holiday weekend was perfectly wonderful! We got a lot accomplished in our yard, and had time to take a few road trips during the days Mr. Wonderful had off from his job. On Saturday we stopped at a little Country Farm Store, and bought some ASPARAGUS! a Whopping FORTY POUNDS of it! Hence, the old crate labels for craft projects and the like.

We worked on cleaning, blanching and packaging the fresh asparagus for our freezer - and saved some for the weekend dinners, and the rest for wintertime meals! Fresh is Best, of course, but frozen is pretty darned close to being fresh, as far as I'm concerned!
